News
Headlines, sorted by what matters to you.
The News page gathers headlines for what you own, the markets and the wider world, so you aren’t digging through unrelated stories.

The three feeds
- Holdings — stories about the stocks in the portfolio you have open.
- Markets — broader market and economy coverage.
- World — general world news that can move markets.
The biggest story is shown as the Top story on the left, and the rest are listed on the right with duplicates removed.
Filtering by tone
Each headline is marked positive, negative or neutral from words like “beats”, “upgrade”, “plunges” or “lawsuit”. Use Filter to show only one tone. It’s a quick keyword read, not a judgement on the story.
Refreshing
Headlines are cached so you stay within NewsAPI’s daily limit. Each feed shows when it was last updated, and Refresh fetches new headlines on demand.
Turning News on
Headlines come from NewsAPI, which needs a free key. Without one the News page shows a reminder instead of headlines, and the rest of Soritch works normally. The same key lets Analytics read recent headlines for its sentiment score.
