Journal
Remember why you bought.
The Journal is a running log of your investing decisions. Write down why you bought, what you expected and what changed, then look back later to see how your thinking held up.

Writing an entry
The composer at the top has three kinds of entry:
- Note — a quick thought about a stock or the market.
- Trade — a buy or sell with quantity and price.
- Thesis — why you own something and what would make you sell.
Add a ticker so the entry is linked to that stock, add #tags in the text to group entries, and click Save. Soritch records the price at that moment so you can compare later.
Charts and links
Use Chart to attach a snapshot of the stock’s price, either as it is now or as it was on a past date, and Link to news to attach a headline. Every entry with a ticker also shows a small chart of the price since you wrote it.
Entries Soritch writes for you
Some entries are added automatically so your history is complete: selling a position records the sale with its realized gain or loss, and importing a CSV records which positions changed.
Finding entries
Filter by entry type or by ticker, or pick a date range from the calendar on the right. The counters at the top show how many entries, trades and theses you have, and how many you wrote this week.
